On April 14th, we are going to be hosting a mini music education conference to provide professional development opportunities to current Nazareth students, alumni, music education professionals, and other music education students from local colleges and universities.
Life can be extremely busy and finding the time to attend bigger conferences from the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) can be difficult. Financial costs can also limit one's ability to attend these conferences. Our chapter is looking to hold a mini conference with 3-5 speakers to present on various topics in music education to provide people with a free and more accessible opportunity for professional development. Also, we will be using this event as an opportunity to give back to the community by asking attendees to consider donating money to the Rush Henrietta Arts Alive program or bring perishable food to donate to Foodlink. This is not required to attend the mini conference but we are hoping many who attend will consider helping those in need.
Your donations will help ensure that this is a free experience for anyone who attends our conference. Donations will be used to buy lunches (pizza, chips, and a drink) for attendees. Also, donations will aid in the renting of equipment and purchasing of supplies. These will help promote the event, provide participants with some free supplies and welcome items, some organizational supplies, and much more.
We truly appreciate your support in helping us provide this professional development opportunity for many students and educators in our Nazareth community and beyond.
Help buy supplies for the event including: promotional materials, attendee welcome items, organizational supplies, and much more!
